How to reconcile energy scarcity and comfort feeling when it's cold outside ? This question is the starting point of the STOVO project. Exploring what people are doing, their everyday practices to understand why and when they had a need for additional heat, exploring the human history of heating led to consider a new approach to home heating that consists in using the general heating system to reach a minimum temperature level of each room and use a mobile heating element, Stovo, to add these 2 or 3 degrees people need to feel warm, which depends on many factors and their personal definition of thermal comfort. STOVO is an isle of warmth to share moments of life with friends and family in a new ritual while it’s chilly outside. STOVO integrates with people's live by taking into account a local production, with local materials as much as possible and allowing users to repair themselves.
