Read our three-question interview on design innovation to Ross Lovegrove, one of most innovative designer of the 21st century.

1 If the world collapsed and you had to redesign it, where would you start?

I think, if the world collapsed tomorrow I would use the opportunity to rebuild our synergy with nature, basing everything on biomimicry and the evolution of our species with a view to progressing into a new model of industry and production that is more grown than constructed.

2 Where do you see design innovation today?

Innovation lies in the hands of scientific minds who can initiate radical changes in the use of materials at an atomic level.

3 Inventors vs. Innovators... who wins?

Inventors sound like creaky old men in their garden sheds, isolated; whereas Innovators sound like modern, young, vital minds out in society and connected.

Ross Lovegrove  is a designer and visionary who’s work is considered to be at the very apex of stimulating a profound change in the physicality of our three dimensional world.
